Israel has removed 2 Iranian officials from the "hitlist" at the request of Pakistan

Israel removed Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Aragchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf from the hitlist at the request of Pakistan. Reuters reported this information in a report on Thursday citing Pakistani officials.

A Pakistani official told Reuters in this regard, "Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi and Bagher Ghalibaf were among the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran who were named by Israel on the hit list. We were able to convince the Israelis through the United States that if these two people were killed, there would be no one left in Iran for dialogue. After that, Israel removed the names of these two people from the hit list in response to the call of the United States."

This news comes at a time when Pakistan has started acting as a mediator between the US and Iran.

It should be noted that the dialogue between Tehran and Washington lasted for 21 days from February 6 to February 27 regarding Iran's nuclear project and missile program. The dialogue ended on February 27 without any compromise agreement.

The next day, on February 28, the US military launched Operation Epic Fury in Iran. In keeping with Washington, Israel also started the military operation 'Operation Roaring Lion' in Iran at the same time.

The US-Israeli attack has already killed Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Chief Security Officer Ali Larijani, the top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite wing of the military, Mohammad Pakpour, and several important and senior officials. Various important military-civilian facilities in Iran were also destroyed or damaged. In addition, more than 2 thousand people have been killed in Iran.

Iran is also responding to the attack in parallel. Since the beginning of the war, Iran started firing drone-missiles at US military bases located in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Oman in 6 countries of the Gulf region of the Middle East, which is still ongoing. As a result of the war, the supply of oil in the international fuel oil market has become irregular, so many countries of the world have already suffered.

Due to international pressure, the United States and Israel are now seeking a ceasefire and Washington has chosen Pakistan as the main mediator. Trump also sent a 15-point proposal to Tehran through Pakistan for a ceasefire.
