The death toll has risen to 51 following an Israeli airstrike on a girls’ school in Minab, located in Iran’s Hormozgan province. At least 60 others were injured in the attack.
According to reports, the United States and Israel carried out coordinated surprise strikes across several parts of Iran early Saturday (February 28). The attacks reportedly targeted key figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Masoud Pezeshkian, several ministers, and senior military officials.
In addition to strategic targets, multiple civilian infrastructures were also hit during the operation. The total number of casualties from other locations has not yet been confirmed. However, the strike on the school alone resulted in 51 deaths.
Mohammad Redmeh, a government official in Minab city, stated that the school was directly targeted in the airstrike. More than 170 students were reportedly present at the time of the attack. Rescue operations are still ongoing, and officials fear the death toll may continue to rise.
