Iran's Intelligence Ministry said authorities arrested another 97 people accused of working for the United States and Israel. Among them, 13 people were detained in southeast Iran.
In a statement shared by Iranian broadcaster IRIB, the ministry said the detainees were planning to create unrest and massacres across the country.
The ministry also claimed to have eliminated five armed mercenary gangs in southwestern Iran near the Iraqi border.
Earlier it was reported that Iranian authorities had arrested 41 people in northern Alborz province for allegedly sending war footage to hostile networks.
Meanwhile, Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) said it had arrested 178 spies working for the US and Israel since the start of the war. Iran's Mehr News Agency confirmed this information.
According to the IRGC, those arrested were sending photos and locations of the Red Crescent Center and various checkpoints to US and Israeli intelligence agencies, so that those places could be targeted.
Several foreign nationals are also among those arrested. From them weapons, location detection devices,Specialized communication equipment and foreign currency were recovered.
